6th Grade Silhouette Workshop

Today, 14 x 6i students at NGG International School in Denmark started assembling festive cards and gifts for the holiday season. In the past couple of weeks’ they have been learning about watercolour techniques, and how to make the colour wheel from just red, blue and yellow. They also made a beautiful watercolour painting,  which last week they cut into miniatures and added twilight silhouettes of houses, trees and the occasional giraffe or turtle!
This week saw them making handmade envelopes and silhouette lanterns. The radio played Christmas tunes, and we all began to feel that special ‘tingle’, that only comes at this special time of the year.
The little elves of 6i have been having a lovely creative time 🙂
These are their last few weeks studying art and design for this school year. Students from 6n will be commencing in January 2015 – they’ll be learning about self-portraits,  colour and perspective drawing first. With plenty of wonderful craft projects for Valentine’s day and Easter too.
